In the northern sky, the Big Dipper and Little Dipper swing around the North Star (Polaris). The Big Dipper is a large pattern of stars consisting of seven bright stars of the constellation Ursa Major (Greater Bear). The North Star can be seen off of the Big Dipper and is a part of the tip of the handle of the Little Dipper (Little Bear).
